About The Knitting Project - READ THE RULES PLEASE
GET YOUR OWN CUSTOM HAND MADE KNITTED HAT FOR FREE

So far these people have received their free knitted design hats!

Simplified rules:
1. Post a frontal face portrait of yourself in the group pool.
2. If you're lucky, this will inspire Knitkid into making you a hat.
3. If so, get your portrait taken wearing the hat.
4. Post the photo in this group.
That's it! Below is extended information, disclaimer, descriptive rules, examples of good photo submissions, links, etc.
About The Kntting Project
First of all, it IS true. We do hand out high quality custom knitted hats for free. A lot of people here in Norway have already received their hat and gotten their hat portrait taken, you can see some of them in this set. This group is intended to take the project further on internationally.
By posting a face portrait of yourself in this pool, you might be selected as the lucky receiver of one custom made knitted hat, based on your submitted photo. Colors and design are uniquely chosen for each person. All hats are genuine and one of a kind, made out of high quality Norwegian wool. Those who receive a hat will have to get their photo taken, and post it in this pool
. We would prefer if you get the photo taken following our photo guidelines, which are very simple. See below for those.
Remember: Each and every one of these hats are hand made by The Knitkid, and part of his motivation behind this is the actual response from those who are lucky enough to receive one. Therefore, please follow up by getting your photo with the hat taken and submit it here.
The rules - full description:
1. Post a single face portrait of yourself in the group pool. Please consider the lighting conditions and the quality of the photo. The better the photo, the bigger the chance of Knitkid choosing you as the lucky receiver.
Please note: By submitting a photo, you will not necessarily receive a hat. Remember, all these hats are knitted by one person, who's got only one set of arms and a day consisting of only the regular 24 hours.
This is an example of a good submission:

Thanks to Kadrikk for letting us use her photo.
2. Please do not contact the admins asking them to make you a hat. Each photo will be closely considered and the lucky ones will be contacted. Feel free though, to ask questions regarding the overall project.
3. If you get picked out, you will have to get your portrait taken. We'd of course love to travel around the world and do this ourselves, but unfortunately that would heavily exceed our budget. Therefore, you will have to get someone else to do this. Important: As this is an art project following a strict set of rules, your portrait must be taken using the guidelines provided by us. See below for these.
4. When we receive your portrait wearing the hat, this will be posted in a pool displaying all those chosen Lucky Ones!
Photo guidelines:
If you've recieved a hat, your next step is to get your portrait taken.
Keep the whole head inside the frame. Make the portrait a frontal head shot, not a full body shot. Please don't use any heavy digital effects or strange, tweaked colors. That's it. The rest is up to you. By the way, please keep it high-res if you could.
For inspiration and good visual guidelines, please see this set.
Important disclaimer: This is for the time being an art project. It is not a commercial project in any way, although one day the hat production might turn into a commercial business. So far this is purely and solely just for fun.
All hats being made are considered prototypes. No hats are the same, but at some point one prototype might set the standard for a larger scale production.
As part of the project, the portraits could also become part of an exhibition, a book, posters and so on. This is yet to be decided.
Please note: Please respect this group's purpose. If you receive a hat, then please follow up by posting a photo of yourself wearing it in the pool. It's also important that you follow our photo guidelines when taking the photo. Of course, we won't be able to track you down and slap you if you just take the hat and forget about the rest, but that would make us sad. And you wouldn't wanna make us sad, would you?
