Photographs of castles, fortresses, churches, and relics directly related to the Order of the Knights Templar (1100 and 1400) only.

There has been renewed interest in the Knights Templar with popular movies( Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) and books (The Da Vinci Code) etc. --- this is NOT what the group is about.

ABOUT THE HISTORY:
The Knights Templar were an order of warrior monks. The order was founded in 1118 , "to keep the roads and highways safe... with special regard for the protection of pilgrims".
The Knights Templar became one of the most powerful organisations in Europe, immensly rich and influential which eventually led to their demise in 1314.
