Many thanks to fellow Flickr member lauralemur for the idea.

This group is for all of us out there who are interested in antique photographs. Many times we find it difficult to date photos or find out more about the photograhers. This group is a vehicle to post scans of any photographer information from the front or back (or tucked behind that daguerreotype or ambrotype) of your antique photos, along with any information you may have regarding the photographer, studio, gallery, etc. including dates if you have them.

By ourselves it's often difficult to track down information, especially if the photo was taken in another town, province, state, country - but together I believe that we can put together a very helpful historical and research tool. Let's get together and help each other out.
