About The Bristol Island
Since the construction of the new cut in 1809 there has been a large area of Bristol effectively on an Island, these are Spike Island, Redcliffe and St Phillip's Marsh. These areas contain (amongst other things) The southern area of the Docks, Bristol's answer to Canary Warf the modern office district in Redcliffe, St Mary's RedCliffe, Temple Meads Station, The Bristol Harbour Railway and the Industrial estate in St Phillip's Marsh.
