About ! The BEST of Black & White Photography (NO SEPIA)
This group has been created to "house" THE BEST Black & White Photography that can be found on Flickr. This group is now open for anyone to join.
This group is not about quantity of photos in the group.... it's about QUALITY.
This group is not for "ordinary" black and white photos. We are looking for mediocre...good....better...THE BEST black and white photographs! They must have GREAT composition, clarity and interest for the viewer. If a photograph is too chaotic or jumbled... or would have told the "story" better in color, it won't be accepted into this group.
The ENTIRE PHOTO must be in BLACK AND WHITE. NO SEPIA OR TONED photos.
This is not the group for colored photos of skunks, zebras or dominoes!
The subject matter can be varied, however no nudity or offensive images will be tolerated. No photographs depicting violence or death will be tolerated. Please bear in mind that the wording of titles and captions can also cause offence. If you can't share your photo with a 4 year old, it does not need to be here.
Clarity of each photo is an absolute...however there may be a few photos that do not meet this criteria. They may be added because the composition or "artistic quality" outweighs the need for clarity.
The administration will be scanning through the pool on a regular basis. If we see inappropriate photos.... or photos that don't meet our high standards, they will be removed without prior notice...whether they were invited to the group or not. Do not be offended, if this happens to you, just post your BEST photographs tomorrow. we may occasionally "clean house" of older photographs that do not meet our high standards of quality, as well
Comments are welcome, but certainly not required. There is a comment code (below) to use if you wish, please leave a personal word or two as well and make flickr a friendlier place. Our main satisfaction comes from within ... when we get a GREAT shot. Few things can top that feeling for an artist.
Lastly ... if you ever lack inspiration or motivation, try playing the Slideshow of our group's photos! It is amazing to watch. If watching it doesn't inspire you to get up with your camera in hand, nothing will !
