The Great Lakes (which also includes the Myall Coast) and adjoining Gloucester and Manning Valley Regions are located on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia, about 3 hours north of Sydney.
Apart from its friendly towns and villages the Myall Coast, Great Lakes, Gloucester and Manning areas are undeniably among the most scenic parts of Australia with more than 39 beautiful beaches, 47 unique National Parks and Nature Reserves, 18 State Forests,3 pristine lake systems and 5 superb river systems with numerous tributary rivers and creeks. Ramsar listed wetlands, and ancient gondwanan cool temperate, warm temperate, sub-tropical and littoral rainforests are found throughout the region. Barrington Tops National Park carries prestigious World Heritage Area status and the Myall Lakes was recently awarded equivalent significance with a RAMSAR listing.
This Flickr group hopes to capture the magical essence of this area.

Yacaaba Headland, Broughton Island, Hawks Nest, Bombah Point, Tea Gardens, Pindimar, North Arm Cove, Stroud, Bulahdelah, Seal Rocks, Smiths Lake, Pacific Palms, Coomba Park, Tiona, Green Point, Forster,Tuncurry, Hallidays Point, Coolongolook, Nabiac, Krambach, Stratford, Gloucester, Barrington Tops, Wingham, Bobin, Elands, Mt George, Nowendoc, Taree, Cundletown, Old Bar, Wallaby Point/Saltwater, Manning Point, Harrington, Coopernook, Landsdowne, Comboyne, John's River, Hannam Vale, Lorne, Crowdy Head, Diamond Head.

These areas fall roughly within the boundaries of the Great Lakes, Gloucester and Greater Taree City Shire Councils and the Gloucester,Great Lakes and Manning Tourism Associations.
