I know the logo is no longer gold but !
I have given the Gold Seal logo the effect of a photo developed with
the Platinum photograpic method.This used Platinum based developing materials
and placed the paper in direct contact with the negative. Although the resulting High Quality prints remained stable over time,the high cost of Platinum made this an expensive method.
This photograpic method was popular between 1873 to 1920.
And thankfully we have inventors that found cheaper methods and made photography
something we all can afford to enjoy today !
