About The Deep, Kingston Upon Hull

I realised that I have taken so many pictures of the Deep, and so many other people do too, that it probably warranted its own group. The only rule to post a picture here is that it must include The Deep, or part of, somewhere in the photo. Pictures taken inside are also acceptable. Oh yeah- and five photos a day max.
For those of you who don't know. The Deep is an aquarium in Kingston Upon Hull, East Yorkshire, England. The management were so proud of it they even invented a new word to describe it- submarium- as aquarium seemed inadequate to them.
However you feel about it, it is certainly an iconic building and is very photogenic!
What has amazed me most about the building is how the people of Kingston Upon Hull have taken it to their hearts considering its outlandish looks.
I remember at first being very taken aback by it, but now it has grown on me enormously. It reminds me of the Sydneysiders reaction to the opera house- at first it was despised, but now is loved as a symbol of Sydney and Australia the world over.
I just love that there are so many different pictures and angles to be taken of this building. One of my favourite buildings, the Swiss Re building in London ("The Gherkin") is a fantastic icon, but it looks the same from all angles- not so the Deep- around every corner is another new view!
