About The Chinese Dream
Economic reform has propelled Chinese cities and their inhabitants into the future with amazing velocity. Modernity sweeps across the country beyond the coastal boomtowns heading for the countryside. The clashing of accelerated progress and underdevelopment, of dispersed market forces and rigid communist hierarchies, mass-migration and restricted citizenship gives rise to an entirely new urban realm of unremitting change, contrasts and contradiction. This group presents a cross-section of this emerging landscape, mixing pictures with designs and sketches for a new urban future.
