You take pictures by making your focus on the brighest available spot within your frame.
The strong contrast resulting from this will have to underline a strong subject/content as well.
Well, submit them and see if you can stay in. And I can tell you average pictures will not remain.
The Law is tough. Curating process will be tough. :)

Photoshop will be kept to a strict minimum, that is equivalent to darkroom techniques.
