About BEAUTIFUL DETAIL (In the Work of the Skilled-Artisan)
The aim of this group is to show the craftsmanship, beauty and artistic-quality in the work of the SKILLED-Artisan / Craftsman /Craftswoman, in work which was created by them UP TO THE 1950s.

Cast/Wrought iron work
Stonecarving
Woodcarving

These are just a few examples of the types of work, which has, for centuries, been undertaken by skilled-artisans.
We want to see the beauty in the detail of these age-old skills...close-up and personal!
The Rules:
NOTHING MORE RECENT THAN THE 1950S.
NO PHOTOS OF DRAWINGS, PAINTINGS OR SKETCHES.
NO EMBROIDERY, CROCHETING OR ANY OTHER FORM OF HOME-MADE
HANDICRAFTS (needlework samplers are fine if obviously old/antique).
NO DRESSES, CLOTHING OR ACCESORIES.
NO PLANTS, ANIMALS, BIRDS, INSECTS, TREES OR HUMAN BODY-PARTS.
(nor anything natural or created by nature, unless it is incidental and
secondary to the main-subject ).
Also please, no "general ", "distant " or "semi-distant " shots of buildings/subjects...the emphasis is on showing us the skill, craftsmanship and artistry in the Details.
If you find that a photo you have posted has been removed, please do not take it personally! : )
It will not be meant as a slight against any particular photograph or person.
It will be simply because it does not fall within the rules or guidelines of the group.
Thankyou, and a big welcome to all new and future members,
Regards and respect, JE.
