28 May 10 - Welcome to the A62 group!

Getting some great pics on here now - just lacking some from the Leeds end of the road (hint hint!).

I've also done a little bit of pool cleaning, apologies if any of your images have been booted - I either couldn't see the A62 on them or they did not seem to have been taken from the A62.

About the A62 - the old (slow) way from Leeds to Manc

Before the M62 was built during the early 1970s, the A62 was one of the main transpennine routes from Leeds to Manchester. Although it has long been a secondary route, evidence of its past importance is still evident.

It weaves through a rich variety of landscapes from industrial town centres, alongside canals through textile villages and over the striking Pennines at Saddleworth.

This group aims to collect together pictures relating to the mighty A62! Such as;
- pictures taken of, taken from or along the A62
- road signs etc
- under construction
- anything else A62ers think is relevant!
