About The 1000 Plates Project

Welcome to The 1000 Plates Project, where your dinner can help feed Australia’s hungry.

The 1000 Plates Project is an Australian Good Taste magazine initiative that aims to raise awareness for the wonderful work done by Foodbank Australia. Foodbank takes donations from food companies and retailers, such as Woolworths, and turns them into meals – 75,000 of them a day – to give to the hungry. But so much more is needed. Here’s how you can help!

Simply upload a picture of a dish you’ve cooked to this gallery and Australian Good Taste will donate a meal to the hungry via Foodbank. We’re aiming for 1000 plates ... to start with.

Remember to tag yourself and The 1000 Plates Project to the picture, share your post with your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter and email.
