Recap of the Rules to Join (you already agreed to these)

1. This is a family friendly group. We do not accept suggestive images, nudity, violence or other offensive content. A child of any age should be able to view your photo. If you aren’t sure if your picture is acceptable, then please don’t post it. Any photos violating these rules will be removed.

2. Respect your fellow members. Any posted comments must be polite and respectful.

3. Do not block any group moderators or administrators.

4. Challenge entries MUST be photos. They can have post-processing, but cannot be wholly created on a computer.

5. All photos must be hosted on Flickr.

6. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

7. Have fun!

General Storybook Challenge Stuff
♦ Just to add a storybook twist, Admins are called Kings and Queens and Mods are called Princes and Princesses. Together, Admins/Mods are Royalty. Characters are all other members of the group.
♦ You may post any picture to the group pool as long as it has an award from The Storybook Challenge Group.
♦ All photos must have been taken by you. This is not just a group rule, but is also a Flickr TOS and a way to avoid copyright infringement.
♦ Photos must be set to public, so Admins/Mods can present awards.
♦ Photos should be posted in the "Medium 500" size, unless otherwise noted.
♦ Photos can only be entered into one challenge at a time, regardless of the challenge type.
♦ Once a photo is eligible for the monthly challenge, it should not participate in any more Over the River, Through the Woods or Befriend the Dragon challenges. This will allow more pictures to be eligible for the monthly challenge.
♦ Within 20 minutes of entering ANY challenge, you MUST vote in all other challenges listed as “VOTE” or your entry may be removed. This will ensure that the threads keep moving quickly.
♦ Even if you are not participating in a challenge, we’d love it if you voted anyway! It helps to keep things moving at a quick pace.
♦ You do not have to comment on winning photos, but are encouraged to do so. Hey, who doesn’t love some good comments?
♦ If you would like to comment on a picture, please do it in the picture’s individual comments.

Challenges 01-15 >> Over the River (OTR) and Through the Woods (TTW) Challenges
♦ There are 12 regular challenges, called the Over the River Challenges (threads 01-12). Ten have themes selected by the Mods/Admins (01-10). The themes for the other two can be selected by participants (11-12).
♦ The Through the Woods Challenge (thread 15) is for photos that have already won an Over the River Challenge.
♦ Threads 13 and 14 don’t exist for now.
♦ If a photo has already won a Befriend the Dragon award (i.e. won first place in a weekly challenge), it is NOT eligible for these challenges.
♦ There are three photos per challenge.
♦ The first photo to receive 5 votes wins.
♦ Please do NOT vote in any challenges that you have entered.
♦ To vote: Look at the most recent votes, then add yours, depending on what picture you like. For example, before you vote the score is: 3-4-1. If you want to vote for picture #3, the score would then be: 3-4-2. Remember to check after posting your vote to ensure the vote is correct. Sometimes people post their votes at the same time.
♦ If someone does vote at the same time as you, you should edit your post (please DON’T delete your post). For example, let’s say the vote was 2-2-2 when you saw it. You voted for the third picture and posted 2-2-3. Then you see that the person above you said 3-2-2. Just take your votes and add the person’s vote above you. 2-2-3>>3-2-3
♦ If you see that a challenge already has a photo with 5 votes, please do not vote on that thread.
♦ When a photo receives 5 votes, an Admin or Mod will close the thread and award the photo.
♦ Once your photo receives its award, it may be added to our group pool.
♦ If your photo receives a Through the Woods award, it may be added to our BBQ at Grandma's House group pool.

Challenges 20-21 >> Befriend the Dragon (BTD) Challenges (weekly)
♦ Themes for these challenges will be chosen by Admins/Mods. The themes will be chosen and posted in advance, so participants can prepare if necessary.
♦ Challenge 21 is not currently used.
♦ See the challenge for start and end dates.
♦ Photos that have previously won a Through the Woods award are not eligible. However, if a photo has only won an Over the River award it is still eligible.
♦ To vote: Decide which three pictures you like best. In the comment box, post your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place choices, in order of preference. For example, your first place vote would be on the top line, second in the middle and third on the bottom. The votes are worth as follows: 1st = 5pts; 2nd = 3pts; 3rd = 1pt.
♦ All participants who entered MUST vote or your photo will not be allowed to win.
♦ Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Each of those winners may add their photo to our group pool.
♦ The 1st place photo is eligible for the Monthly Beanstalk Climb-offs and it may be added to our BBQ at Grandma's House group pool.
♦ Although 2nd and 3rd place photos are not eligible for the Monthly Beanstalk Climb-offs, they are eligible for the Through the Woods Challenge.

Challenges 50-52 >> Monthly Beanstalk Climb-offs
♦ There are three monthly challenges – Noah’s Ark (People/Animals), The Land of Oz (Places/Scapes), and Odds and Ends (The Other Stuff)
♦ See the challenges for start and end dates.
♦ Only photos that have won a Through the Woods or 1st place Befriend the Dragon (weekly challenge) award are eligible.
♦ Participants can enter one eligible photo in each of the three climb-offs.
♦ To vote: Decide which three pictures you like best. In the comment box, post your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place choices, in order of preference. For example, your first place vote would be on the top line, second in the middle and third on the bottom. The votes are worth as follows: 1st = 5pts; 2nd = 3pts; 3rd = 1pt.

Troubleshooting (aka…FlickrMail the Admin/Mods)
♦ If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to FlickrMail any of the Admins/Mods.
♦ If you see a voting mistake, you can send FlickrMail to an Admin or Mod also.
♦ If you did not receive an award for a challenge you won, please send FlickrMail to one of the Admins or Mods. Please provide a link to the specific challenge. (That doesn’t happen very often, but we are human.)
♦ If you don’t see your photo in the group pool right after you submit, please give it a little time. Submissions to the group pool are reviewed by Admin/Mods to ensure that they have received an award before they are accepted into the group pool.



Comment code for the group - This can be inserted on a member’s picture to let them know where you saw their photo.
