About That Short Show
That short show is about getting your short more exposure.
I work as a station manager at a cable access station. The usual fare is local government meetings, school events, church services plus public access programming. Honestly, rather dull stuff for most of us.
The fact is, station managers are always looking for something interesting to fill in the programming gaps. I use a local bulletin board in gap time but really, no one needs 8 hours a day of listings of local bake sales and upcoming zoning board meetings. To fill these gaps, station managers are always on the look out for something that is both entertaining and different than the fare on commercial and even public television stations. We do this in part by swapping the less locally focused public access shows amongst ourselves. That Short Show is my attempt to make something worth passing around. There is some other content being developed out there but falls mostly in to the cooking and political categories.
The advantages to TV for you is, exposure to a larger audience, your work will be seen full sized uncompressed and there will be no time limit although in keeping with the spirit of the name your feature should be short.
By submitting your video to this group you are allowing That Short Show the right to compile you video into a TV show for non commercial distribution. In the even that there is ever any interest in showing That Short Show commercially, you will be contacted for permission and any monetary rewards be distributed to all those that contributed to the episode.
Rather than going into minute details that are likely to change here, I will open it up to discussion. I am still in the planning stages and would like to here from contributors for their ideas.
