I know this does not quite fit the theme, but I am not sure where to post it. How do you know when yours or a friends picture made it into explore? I have not looked there every week/day, but I keep seeing people with sigs and tags of their pictures that made it into explore and wondered how you find out. I mean if they did not have it in their tag/sig I would never have realized it.

I believe that your photo must be faved by at least one person. Then the rest is just speculation for me: probably the number of views and comments factor in there somewhere. It would be nice to know though. What I really want to know is why they stop being in explore . . .

Do really want to get onto Explore?

As interesting as I find the concept of Interestingness, it disgusts me just as much. Furthermore, Yahoo just filed for a patent of their creation. Patents are public information. I am happy to pass along the information explaining the concept which is now readily available and found on Google. The only downside to this is the way in which Yahoo filed the application: the concept of Interestingness is as vague as it ever was. Here is the long sought out answer that we have all been waiting for, sort of . . .

Read the patent.
