About Photographer's Tech Resources
This group is for dicussing the technical aspects of photography. This group unlike lots of the other Flickr groups covers a wide range of topics.
This is the place to post your questions/comments and learn from others, lots of topics are 'in bounds' and you have a group of moderators/admins who come from a variety of backgrounds and are here to answer your questions (and probably ask a few themselves). Below is a list of topics that this group is focused on:
If You Are New to Photography: Check out this thread in the group on some ways to learn more about photography and get better.
In Focus:
DSLR's: Lenses and Associated Accessories - Nikon, Canon, Pentax and Sony/Minolita
Lighting: Speedlites, MonoLights, Head/Pack Systems, Modifiers, Reflectors, Light Meter's
Workflow/Software: Asset Management, RAW Processing, Editing, Photoshop, Color Calibration
Printing: Home Printing using Laser/InkJet, Dealing with Photo Processing Companies, Paper Stock.
Somewhat in Focus:
Film Stuff: Camera's, Film Types, older Film systems and lenses.
Medium Format: Not off topic just doesnt' come up much... If you have a question ask it.
Out of Focus:
Image Composition: and Questions about What Looks Good, This Isn't about the Art of Photography it's about the Science of it.
Point and Shoot Digital (sure we all have them, but they aren't a focus here)
No Advertising: This group is not the place to promote your business. Some discussion of businesses is great but not talking up yours.... subject to the discretion of the admins/moderators.
Membership: Group administrators and moderators can remove anyone for any reason at anytime.
Photo Pool: Limited to Four Photos a Day. Photos must be of camera equipment, lighting and studio setups, etc. This is NOT a photo pool for random photos of your work. Photos that are off-topic will be removed from the pool (nothing personal just trying to keep the pool focused).
Dicussion Rules: There aren't a ton of rules here... But we'd ask that people try to be nice to each other and offer constructive advice. Bickering, flaming and starting debates with no real answer (i.e. Nikon vs. Canon) aren't cool and won't be tolerated.
