The Taunton River and Tribs

The Taunton River, in southeastern Massachusetts, drains a watershed of 562 square miles, with a population of over 500,000. Cities include Fall River, Brockton and Taunton. The Taunton has nine major tributaries - each worth exploring on its own: the Segregansett, Assonet, Three Mile, Mill (and its major contributor the Canoe), Nemasket, Winnetuxet, Satucket and the Town and Matfield. The confluence of the Town and the Matfield marks the beginning of the main strem of the Taunton on its journey to Narragansett Bay.
