About Talawa Theatre Company Talawa Theatre Company is Britain's foremost Black-led theatre company. We focus on giving voice to the Black British experience, cultivating Black audiences and audiences for Black work. Talawa also nurtures, develops and supports talent. Our activities are far-reaching and varied. We commission new writing; encourage Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) activities around our rehearsal rooms; showcase new Black writing; run an extensive Education and Participation programme including an annual summer school; boost the writing skills of emerging and established writers through Talawa Writers' Group and stage productions in London, across the United Kingdom and, occasionally, internationally. This group is about everyone and everything touched by Talawa as we celebrate, interrogate and articulate the Black British experience in all its complexity and diversity.
