About Five Sikh Takhts

This group is about all the pictures of the 5 Sikh Takhts. The word Takht means 'seat of power' or 'throne of authority' and refers to one of the five bodies of authority for the Sikhs. Sometimes 'Takht' is spelled 'Takhat' or even 'Takat'.

The five main Takhts of Sikhs are
* Akal Takht, at Amritsar
* Keshgarh Sahib, at Anandpur
* Patna Sahib, at Patna in Bihar
* Hazur Sahib, at Nanded in Maharashtra
* Damdama Sahib, in Talwandi Sabo, Bhatinda
