Triangle Dog Parks
Chapel Hill: The town web site lists two dog parks. First is the Homestead Dog Park. The second, in Southern Community Park, is still under construction.
Durham: The city lists two parks. Pineywood Park is located at the intersection of Woodcroft Parkway and Woodlake Drive. The park consists of more than three acres of land with four separate fenced in areas. Northgate Park is located off of Lavender Ave. (the old Jaycee ball field) and has two enclosed areas. See www.durhamdogpark.org/ for more details. Note that the Durham parks require registration (which it not free).
Mebane: The APS of Orange County has a dog park The APS Dog Park is a three-acre fenced-in area located on the grounds of the Felicite Latane Animal Sanctuary. "The park is open 365 days a year from 8am until dusk. Dog Park memberships are available for an annual fee of $50 for one dog and $20 for an additional dog. All human dog park members must go through an orientation which includes a video on dog park behaviors. In addition, each dog is evaluated to ensure appropriate social conduct."
Raleigh: There are three dog parks listed in Raleigh's Off Leash Dog Park Areas web page. Millbrook Exchange Dog Park, open at night with lights, is Raleigh's oldest dog park, located within Millbrook Exchange Park at 1905 Spring Forest Road, Oakwood Dog Park is located at 910 Brookside Drive. Carolina Pines Dog Park is in a wooded area at Carolina Pines Community Center at 2305 Lake Wheeler Road.
Cary: According to the town web site, Cary has a a dog park at Godbold Park, near the corner of Northwest Maynard and Chapel Hill roads. Note that you need to buy a pass to access this park.
Carrboro: Anderson Community Park, located on 54 not far from the post office, has 2 acre dog park.
