Issue 3: Reflecting on Switzerland

view profile

Mark Howells-Mead is a group administrator Mark Howells-Mead  Pro User  says:

Thank you to all who submitted images to be considered for issue two of Swiss Peeks - Switzerland Through Your Eyes, which will feature the theme "The Red Makes It" when it is published in early March. The judges' voting round finishes tomorrow and all those who have had images selected will be contacted in the next few days.

So, the group pool is now re-opened and we're accepting your images for the next issue! After a discussion between the judges, the theme for issue three, which will be published this autumn, is "Reflecting on Switzerland". From beautiful landscapes reflected in glassy alpine lakes, to self portraits in those highly-polished store windows on our city streets, it's all about mirror effects. Or, how about a more meaningful shot: interpreting the theme in a different way and showing a more pensive side to your photography? Either way, please start taking great new photos now and add them to the group pool, with the new tag swisspeeks3.

If you're short of inspiration, check out "The Mirror Project" website and the related group here at Flickr.

Me too... my lack was not of photos... but of time. I've been very busy lately. I hope to participate in issue 3! :)

Traduction:

Should the pool be only for the current theme or are pictures for previous themes "Seeing the Light" and "The Red Makes It" still accepted for the pool.?

The pool is open to all comers! Only photos which are tagged appropriately will be reviewed for upcoming books, and no photos will now be considered which are tagged for issues 1 or 2. (The photo selection is moved to an admin server during the production process, so no new photos featuring previous tags will be reviewed.)

Details of conditions of submissions are still given here, by the way:

is the 20-pic rule still enabled? or does it only count for pictures tagged with swisspeeks3? because some persons have more than 20 entries in the group...

Dear Mark and Jérôme : Mark says here "20 picture per issue" and elsewhere, "20 picture in the pool". Should we already delete the pictures posted for issue 2?

The rule is that each photographer may have a maximum of 20 pictures in the pool. The pool is really so that you can submit photos for the next issue, not so that all of the photos ever submitted are always here. When the next issue is published, in the next couple of weeks, a gallery will appear on www.swisspeeks.ch to show small versions of the photos included in previous issues.

i was just browsing the pool with the tag swisspeeks3 and it's funny to see that half of the most interesting pictures are mountains reflecting in lakes :)

you editors will have a tough job to do, choosing not only such pictures, unless the book will be beautiful, of course, but pretty boring :)

A quick reminder to all that the closing date for submissions to the third issue of collective photo book Swiss Peeks, "Reflecting on Switzerland", is the end of the month. So, you still have 17 days to add your photos to the Swiss Peeks pool and tag them "swisspeeks3", so that the editors can vote on them! You make Swiss Peeks what it is!
