1. Mirror Maze at Gletschergarten, suppose this must be fun for so many photographers ...
2. Christmas markets in downtown Lucerne
3. Large Advent calendar
4. Plus lots of landmarks along the way

I am starting a new group, the idea of which is that people take part in simultaneous meet ups with pacifists purposes. I suggested the first one to be on December 9th. If anybody who's going to the meet up in Lucern would like to participate, we could get there like one hour or 40 minutes before the Switzerland-züriflickrdrinkr meet up for that purpose. 10:16 sounds mighty early, but you're right, we have to start early if we want to get a little something out of the day. If the weather is lousy, we can still push it back an hour or so ;-)

Apart from the Glacier Garden (info) there are no entrance fees. If you are interested in Swiss museums you might consider buying a Swiss Museum Pass giving free access to several hundred museums during one year. Check out whether there is a special offer in the Migros weekly newspaper (last year I got one towards end of the year, might just be early enough for Dec, 9)
Net time to walk: about one hour. But I know, we're all flickr photographers, so this will be enough to keep us busy during a whole day ...

Hello Chaps!
Just a quick note to say enjoy your meet-up in Luzern (and also the pre-meetup for those going!). I do wish I could come. I have a feeling that when i am sat on the back of an elephant I won't be thinking that...or maybe i will, I think riding an elephant could be quite scary!
Anyway, have fun darlings and take lots of gorgeous pics - I want to see them all when i get back!

Prior to the Swiss flickrites' meet-up in Lucerne starting at 10:20 a.m. (train schedule in this thread) there will be an event of the Global flickr meet ups for peace group, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The meeting point for both events is under the arch on Bahnhofplatz (station square). To find it, continue to walk in the same direction the train came in, pass left or right of the kiosk (near track 8), leave the train station through the main gate behind the kiosk and cross the street. The arch looks like this (seen from the station):

uhm, folks, should we move the affair back a little? the weather forecast is, excuse my french, absolute shit. and there won't be much light either, if it turns out to be as predicted. 0-6 degrees cold - we'll have it all...
Not trying to ruin your plans, Markus, but could we meet for brunch or so around 11 or even noon and then see what we can and want to do? I picture myself getting up around 8 on Saturday, opening the blinds, seeing the weather and falling back into bed, comatose ;-)
If you think there's enough to do without getting all wet, I guess I'll have to try not falling into a coma...

the brunch idea sounds good bruno. in a warm and quiet place. definitely quiet because my night will be short and potentially... hum... alcoholized...
i should leave the mountains (lungern) around 10am on saturday but don't know yet where i'll be dropped - and in which state... i think for me 12:00 in lucerne is a good guess. someone targeting this timeframe as well ?
