About Stilvorlagen + Typeradio = Sweet16
Loads of pictures up here, if you feel like sharing them with us, please do. Here's what it's about:
Typeradio (Underware, Loveliza and DBXL) & Bruno Setola, collaborated with University of Applied Science directed by Prof Heike Grebin, Elvira Barriga and students of Prof Henning Wagenbreth, Universität der Künste Berlin on a special event called "Sweet Sixteen".
Sweet Sixteen started with a 16 hours non stop radio show by Typeradio at The 35th floor of the Park Inn Hotel on the Alexanderplatz in Berlin on May 16 2007. Many students helped on the whole organization of the event and it was a big succes! The interviews will be available as mp3 on www.typeradio.org soon.
Together with a special team of students, led by Bruno Setola, a pink trail was set out to lead Typo Berlin visitors to M12, a gallery where a big Typeradio afterparty was organized. The signage system was noticed by many people in the street and this led to a number of 500 people joining the party that evening. Dressed up in special suits, 5 students also did a small performance at Typo Berlin to announce the start of the afterparty.
At the afterparty there was a line-up of professional DJ's that had agreed to spin vinyl on a non-profit basis and there was a live Overhead Projector Animation by Bruno, Klaas and Fiona. Topped off with an auction of the suits from the lovely ladies of the Pink Tape Tag Team and some beautiful handmade posters in black ink, the party was hit. Also T-shirts, sweet Sixteen Cookies and pins were sold and the party lasted untill the early morning.
The whole event was initiated by Typeradio, so not by Typo Berlin, which some people may have presumed. In 2006 though Typeradio DID do a show at Typo Berlin: typeradio.org/loudblog/index.php?loc=shows&sub=show3text
Typeradio and Bruno Setola would like to thank all the students for their amazing energy. It was great to see what an enthusiastic group of 30 people can do within a week, most of which has been improvised on the spot. A documentary was shot as well by the students, so we hope to get this live on YouTube and websites in the near future. Be sure to look for "Documentary Sweet Sixteen"
A great week!
Bruno
