About Saturday Walkers Club (SWC)

The Saturday Walkers Club (SWC) is a London / South East England based walking group.

It organises several walks each week (not just on Saturdays) from the from the 2 Time Out Books of Country Walks near London. The walks are an hour or so by train from central London, and everyone is very welcome, especially visitors to London. There is no joining fee, and the the walks are free. Just turn up!. However, as there is no 'walk leader', we do ask that you bring a copy of the route (either a book, or a printout).

The SWC also creates new walks, which you can download, print and use. Most contain a detailed route description (no map needed), but some need an OS map.

Anyone who had done 1 of the walks (independantly, or with the group) is welcome to add photos to the pool, but please follow these rules

1. Adding photos to the group pool

Please add photos to give a good idea of a walk to others.
- Please respect a limit of 30 photos per walk unless you have a good reason.
- Normally, photos shouldn't contain people

2. Please tag your photos so I can assign them to the correct walk.
e.g. swcwalks book1 walk6

NB: no space between book and 1, or between walk and 6

swcwalks - All pictures should have this tag.
book1 - or book2 or freewalks (use freewalks for the SWC/Free walks)
walk1 - or walk2 ... walk53 etc
swcsocial - for social events
midweek - for midweek evening walks

3. What if my photos haven't appeared on the SWC website

I have to run a script to pick up the new photos, and put them on the website, which I only run every couple of weeks. But if you've just taken some photos you're proud of, drop me a line

Check the mis-tagged photos page - it could be I don't which walk they were of.

4. Set Your Flickr Profile's Timezone Setting to GMT

5. New SWC Walks

If you took part in a walk check of a new walk, and the walks's now on the main website (and so now has a number), please go back and re-tag your photos.
