About In Memory of Susan Joan Cowie
My sister, Susan died far too young from Cancer, but whilst she was with us, she had the most incredible zest for life that you can imagine.
She is the one who introduced me to photography and the fact that a photo should be thought about or composed, rather than a quick point and shoot.
Susan left her photo albums to me, but I was unable to ship them out of America, so this is my plan...
I will upload as many of her shots that I do have, but I would like the rest of you to fill in the gaps.
Susan loved Macro shots, just as she loved delicate flowers and butterflies, and sadly most of those shots are missing - as are her pictures of the wonderful area in which she lived...the Redwoods, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, The Big Sur - so anything from there will do.
When she was in South Africa, she loved taking shots in the various Reserves, as well as the Karoo...and then if she was on the beach...shells and rocky outcrops were her thing.
She also had an immense love for animals in general and specifically the dogs and cats in her life...so those shots would be welcome too.
Being a member of the Cowie family meant that she could not escape the allure of the motor car and motor racing...she even wrote to Graham Hill when she was 10, and asked if he could train her for Formula 1....so car shots are good too.
Hopefully you get the idea....just about anything in those areas would do...cqan you please help me build up a pool of photos that Susy would have enjoyed?
Let's see how it goes!
