26 Feb 10 - Introducing 'Friday Five'. Every Friday on SPP we'll be posting five photos according to a theme. The first theme 'Snow' is up. To give people the chance participate the next three themes will be: The Beach (March 5th), Recession (March 12th) and Sussex People (March 19th). To participate please post your photos to the group. ABOUT THE SUSSEX PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT

The Sussex Photography Project is a new initiative that provides a hub for photography in Sussex.

The project presents features and news about photography in the county. In addition there will be a range of resources and information for Sussex photographers and for people looking for photographic services.

At the heart of the project is the Sussex Photography Archive, an ongoing initiative to compile a collection of high quality photography documenting the county - the land and the people. In addition to featuring special collections from selected photographers, the archive is open for submissions, mainly via our Flickr Group.

Posting Guidelines

Please post your best photos.

Photos should be sized to 800 pixels on their longest side if you would like them to be considered for inclusion in the archive.

Please do not submit photos with borders or watermarks.

Photos must be taken in Sussex. However, we are looking for exceptional photos that document the land and life of the county (East & West). In this respect it is not enough for a photo to be taken in Sussex - it has to say something particular about the county and the people.

General family shots, studio portraits and cliched, much photographed views do not necessarily qualify.

To qualify for inclusion in the Sussex Photographic Archive please ensure that you:

Photos which do not conform to these guidelines may be deleted from the group.

Please only submit images where you hold the copyright. By submitting a photo to this group you are granting permission for it to be included in the Sussex Photographic Archive and reproduced on the Sussex Photographic Project website. Copyright and all image rights remain the property of the photographer. The photographer will be credited whenever the image is displayed.
