About Summit Street Garden Community The Summit Street Garden was established in 1994 through the efforts of many people in the community, who literally dragged toilets, old tires and trash out of several adjoining abandoned lots. In partnership with the NYC Parks Department and Green Thumb, the Summit Street Community Garden exists to offer a cool, green oasis in the city. This Flickr group serves as a place for all members of the garden to upload and share their photos with all the other members of the garden, friends, family, and anyone who has a passion for things that grow.
