About Subantarctic New Zealand
South of New Zealand, beyond the roaring forties, is a boundless sweep of ocean hiding five groups of islands: The Snares, Bounty, Antipodes, Auckland and Campbell islands. Each have their own unique character due to the special ways they have been formed and evolved. The remarkable geological structures, intense weather systems, immense birdlife and improbable flowers all make for fantastic photographic opportunities for those privileged to visit.

Slightly suprised not to see a group for this before so I've set one up
I hope to see penguins, albatrosses, shipwreck sites, megaherbs, seals, storms, sea lions, whales, rocks, waves, waterfalls, rata, volcanic cliffs, rare birds, massive seaweed, elephant seals, forests, glaciated lakes, rainbows, masses of shearwaters, beaches and more....
Consider tagging photos "subantarctic" and the name of the island and lets all put nice comments on the photos we like!
Subantarctic New Zealand.
Since it's a tricky part of the world to get to, I won't be contributing many more photos than this for quite a while! if you find this group months/years in the future and want to take it on, drop me a line to become the administrator
