This is a group for noir photographs and those who love the style.

Images can be from any time period, type of camera, etc, so long as they are Strictly Noir.


Noir -- a paraphrased definition:

A genre marked visually by expressionistic lighting, deep-focus or depth of field camera work, disorienting visual schemes, or juxtaposition of elements, ominous shadows, skewed camera angles (usually vertical or diagonal rather than horizontal), circling cigarette smoke, existential sensibilities, and unbalanced or moody compositions.
