The Street Photography group is an interactive discussion group. Our main vehicle of interactive discussion is the STREET RIFF threads on different Street Photography themes. We enjoy the polite courtesy that you first contribute your photo to a SR ("street riff" discussion) BEFORE you post that photo to the pool. Be sure to add the tag with the appropriate SR# to your shot

This mode of photo posting has been very successful to invigorate our group.

If your photo has been removed from the pool, do not re-post it without reading the rules.

(cliff notes version of etiquette)
- CHECK TO SEE IF A TOPIC EXISTS USING THE SEARCH FUNCTION OR INDEX
- AVOID 2 POSTS IN-A-ROW ON SAME TOPIC
- PUT SMALL SIZE ON TOPIC THREAD
- POST MEDIUM SIZE TO START A NEW TOPIC
- TAG YOUR PHOTO WITH THE TOPIC'S " SR--# "
-AFTER YOU HAVE POSTED YOUR SHOT TO THE APPROPRIATE TOPIC, AND TAGGED IT WITH THE APPROPRIATE "SR" TAG, THEN YOU CAN ADD THE SHOT TO THE GROUP POOL
- TALK ABOUT YOUR PHOTO, ASK ABOUT OTHERS PHOTOS... AND ENJOY!

The Street Photography group is an interactive discussion group. Posting photos to the group pool is a privilege we earn only if we participate in the group via discussion threads.

Each theme gets its own discussion thread, and if you have an idea for an interesting theme, please start a new discussion. Any member may start a Street Riff at any time, although please check to see if there is something similar already. Also, discussions are not limited to Street Riffs. And Street Riffs are not limited to just posting photos. You may comment, tell a backstory, or ask a question about any photo that is yours or another's.

Street photography is of and about the life, the sense, and the photographic style of the public "street" (basically any place where people meet or move about in - or out from - public view), whether urban, suburban, or rural small town, both outdoors and indoors (e.g., malls, shops, galleries, museums, etc.). Street photographs mainly are about how people utilize and interact with the street and its comprising and surrounding elements, but are not limited to human portrayal. In fact, photos can be absent of life because aspects of culture and life are always apparent in street photographs. While many street photos are documentary in style and substance, they can be abstract, funky, or "edgy", and speak about events, emotions, passion, humor, irony, or pathos.
