About STOKE-ON-TRENT 100

6 TOWNS 100 YEARS A CITY.
That’s right, it’s Stoke-on-Trent’s Birthday in 2010.

This group is specifically set up to help celebrate our centenary in 2010 and as a place where we can show all our photographs and videos which relate to this event in one place.

My hope is that we can use this group as a focal point for local flickrites and anyone with an interest in the area and its centenary.
So please use the discussions to post any events linked to our centenary and of cause put any images from Stoke-on-Trent’s 100 years centenary into the pool.

I also wish to use this group to promote Stoke-on-Trent.
If all anyone knows about this area is from local or national press then they will undoubtedly have a poor impression of my city.
So I’m going to be on a mission this year to show Stoke as it truly is to anyone who’ll listen or look.
People from outside the city and those who’ve lived here all there lives like me can sometimes have negative feelings about our city.
Surely in our centenary year we can all get behind our city and be proud of Stoke-on-Trent.

PLEASE ADD ANY IMAGES WHICH RELATE TO THE 100 YEARS CENTENARY OR IMAGES WHICH SHOW HOW STOKE-ON-TRENT HAS MOVED ON IN RECENT YEARS AND HOW THE REGENERATION OF THE AREA IS CHANGING THE CITY.

Please also add your images to the other local groups just as you normally would. This group isn’t trying to compete with any other group. It’s just to make record of our centenary and pool all the images in one place.

So come on Stokies and adopted Stokies let all have a party and toast Stoke-on-Trent’s 100th Birthday.
I wonder if we’ll get a card from the Queen.
