About St. Joseph Island / St. Marys River

This is a place for people around St. Joseph Island, Ontario, to pool pictures to show off our stunning island. Pictures from people just traveling through St. Joseph Island or along the St. Marys River are also more than welcome to join and post.

The pictures I have in mind for this group will showcase St. Joseph Island and the St. Marys River as a place to live and a place to enjoy living. Landscapes, animal shots, nautical images and the like are perfect. Post family photos with discretion, but please post them because the people of the island are as important as the animals and plants! Historical pictures are great, as well.

People on St. Joseph Island (in Richards Landing, in Hilton Beach, in Jocelyn, and out in the woods and fields) as well as the small islands around St. Joe are welcome. Mainland pictures in the Algoma area are also welcome as long as they are taken in close proximity to the St. Marys River, like around Desbarats, Bruce Mines, etc.

And, let's not exclude the Americans on the other side of the St. Marys! Sugar Island, Neebish, Drummond, etc., please post your pictures if taken around the St. Marys River. There once was a time when these island communities were better connected to each other and made more of an impact on the community as a whole. Perhaps learning about these locations in photographs will help bring back a better since of cooperation along the St. Marys River!
