About Wide Field Astrophotography

Starry night photos have always captured my imagination. The wide expanse of the night sky dotted with stars framed by terrestrial objects, such as the ground, trees, ocean or even man made objects give the scene an even better point of reference.

Any camera will do. That's the beauty of wide field astrophotography, no special equipment is needed. A tripod is probably the most essential accessory for successful captures of the night sky. So grab your camera and head out into the night air and share your observations.

Urbanization has led to the loss of truly "dark skies" but traveling even 10 minutes outside the urban zone can yield some nice views of our universe.
