About Star Island

Star Island is a beautiful part of the Isles of Shoals, located ten miles from the coast of New Hampshire. It is home to the hundred year old Oceanic Hotel, a rustic gem, reminiscent of a time when life was a little bit slower-paced. Throughout the summer it hosts week-long conferences, associated with the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ, that attract old friends and loved ones as well as newcomers to the island. It is also home to a lively and loving community of employees, called Pelicans, who return year after year.

The island is an ideal location for photography, along with all other arts, as breath-taking views, natural curiosities and celebrations of life all come together every day.
