About SSP Mustangs - Fox Body Special Service Package Mustangs
This Group is dedicated to the Ford SSP Mustang LX Sedan (Special Service Package) that was used by various law enforcement agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
With the introduction of the 1982 SSP used by the California Highway Patrol, these cars proved to be an excellent special purpose, cost effective patrol car. California was the first to put them into service, and, in 1983, other states including Florida, Georgia, Nevada, and Oregon, plus many others, used the little Fox car to fill their needs.
Hundreds of agencies, including state, county and municipal used them for pursuit/interceptors. They were highly successful and remain one of my favorite cars.
I welcome anyone with interest in the SSP to join. The popularity of these cars is expanding. There are numerous websites with more information on this breed of car.
