How the Weekly Challenge Works

Contests run from Wednesdays. For each, there's a topic or a technique or some arbitrary rule to adhere to. Entries (up to three) have to be in by 9am the following Wednesday, and should be added to both the pool and the weekly thread (use the small size from the 'all sizes' page and paste in the HTML from box 1 below the image).

Voting runs from 9am Wednesday until either there's a clear winner or midnight, whichever comes first. Each week, the winner picks the following week's topic. You can't vote for the previous winner (ie the person who set the challenge).


How the Monthly Challenge Works

The monthly challenge has a few differences. Firstly, it obviously lasts a month. Entries in by midnight on the last day of the month, voting takes place on the first of the month, winner sets the following challenge.

Entries are also a little different. Each person has only one entry: there are no multiple entries as such, but each entry may comprise up to five images. The idea is to tie those images together with some writing - up to 200 words, whether they're your own words or not. But the idea is that you have a single 'mini project'.
