About South Metro Fire Rescue

Welcome to the South Metro Fire Rescue Group. Please post photos of fire apparatus, firefighters, fire stations or action, on-scene photos involving South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) in Colorado.

South Metro Fire Rescue Authority was formed in 2008 with 16 stations that covers 176 square miles in Douglas & Arapahoe Counties, including the cities & areas of Beverly Hills, Castle Pines, Castlewood, Cherry Hills Village, Centennial, Centennial Airport, Daniels Gate, Denver Broncos Training Complex, Denver Tech Center-DTC, Foxfield, Foxridge, Greenwood Village, Kellytown, Lone Tree, Louviers, McArthur Ranch, Meridian, Palisade, Park Meadows, Parker, Pinery, Preston Hill, Sky Ridge, Stonegate, Stroh Ranch & Surrey Ridge.

South Metro Fire Rescue Authority was formed May 1, 2008 by intergovernmental agreement between South Metro Fire & Parker Fire.

South Metro Fire was formed in in 1951 as the Castlewood Volunteer FD, Cherry Hills FD consolidated with Castlewood in 1989, name changed in 1999 to South Metro Fire. Louviers FD joined in 2000.
