About SOT Picture of the Week

Every week, The State of Things on North Carolina Public Radio - WUNC chooses a photo to put on its website. The photos are uploaded to our public Flickr page by our listeners, staff members, and amateur photographers. We will notify you if we use your photo and provide a link to your site or email address, but otherwise we offer no compensation.

We choose photos based on a series of non-scientific criteria. They are:

- Images that capture visually what we try to bring you on the radio everyday: the North Carolina Experience.
- Photos that can be explained simply by giving the geographic location as the caption (example: Elm St., Greensboro)
- landscape (horizontal) orientation
- Pictures that are at least 380 pixels wide at 72 dpi
- Pictures we like

If you don’t want to upload photos to Flickr, you can also email them to us at sot@wunc.org.
