About SOON (Straight Out Of Nikon, an SOOC Group)
Welcome to SOON, a group for Nikon DSLR users who want to showcase their Straight Out Of Nikon images. The Nikon DSLR is an incredible piece of equipment. By utilizing its many control features and by using enhancements such as filters and strobes, it can output great images without the need for post processing.
The goal of this group is to utilize the control features of the Nikon DSLR to achieve the desired results with or without additional equipment such as filters and flashes. THIS IS NOT AN ANTI-PP group! Post processing programs are very useful if used properly.
Challenge yourself. Familiarize yourself with all the control features of your DSLR. Fiddle with the WB, play with the saturation, use grad ND filters, pretend you're using a film camera, then click that shutter. You may be pleasantly surprised at the result. Cropping, straightening, and converting NEF files to JPG are allowed. Please read the Group Rules before joining.
Yes, other camera brands can output great images without the need to post process too, but this is strictly a Nikon group. If you use equipment other than Nikon, there are many groups that you can join. Start by searching "SOOC." Thanks!
