About Somerset's Wonderful Wildlife
About this Group
This is a group for photographs of SOMERSET WILDLIFE & LANDSCAPES
It has been set up by Somerset Wildlife Trust to celebrate and share the amazing wildlife we enjoy and to let people know about recent sightings.
We really look forward to seeing your photographs!
Wildlife Photography Code of Conduct
Remember when taking photographs or video of wildlife that the welfare of the subject is more important than the image.
Here are a few key points to remember:
> Always photograph animals and birds from a safe and respectable distance
> If they show any sign of stress move further back or leave altogether
> Be patient and never force an animal or bird to do something. Remember that the effect of many people is cumulative: you might be the 100th person that day to disturb the subject
> Never encroach on nests or dens during the breeding season
> Treat the habitat with the same regard that you have for the animals themselves
> Check published recommendations such as the excellent code produced by the Nature Group of the Royal Photographic Society www.rpsnaturegroup.com
> Many species are legally protected. The Law as it affects nature photography must be observed. For Great Britain the main legislation is listed at www.rpsnaturegroup.com
> Finally always be honest and truthful when captioning your images
Photographs must be tagged, or have a description or title that shows the photograph was taken in Somerset.
You understand and agree that your photo may appear on www.somersetwildlife.org as long as your content is in the Group. We’ll always credit your photo and link back to your original on Flickr and the copyright will remain yours.
You consent to allow Somerset Wildlife Trust to contact you through FlickrMail regarding any request we might have related to obtaining permission from you to use your content for purposes outside of the Group or www.somersetwildlife.org (For example, we may like to showcase some of your photos in our membership magazine) . If your photo is selected for something like this we’ll contact you through FlickrMail to obtain your permission and your preferred photo credit.
Photographs will be added to this group at the discretion of the administrator. Any photograph that doesn't follow the above Code of Conduct will not be added.
5 photographs can be added per day.
