About Sólfar: The Sun Voyager
This group is a collection of photographs of Jón Gunnar Árnason's sculpture.
This is one of the most-photographed sites in Reykjavik, although it's not exactly beautiful and has its detractors. The Lonely Planet guidebook, for example, describes it as "an immense 10-legged bug that has just crawled out of the sea to greet the city with open mandibles."
I'm hoping that it will interesting to see the different ways that photographers approach the same relatively simple, restricted object, and the variations in light, angle, weather and mood that can be achieved.
