About SOFA

Are some of your favorite people animals? Are you wild for your pets? Do the wild ones touch your soul? Do you have animal pictures and stories to tell or research to share? Come join us for the love of animals.

(SOFA, or Soft-hearted Old Fools, as we began to jokingly call ourselves, started on fotolog as a name for all the people who fell in love with little Dora the orphan raccoon baby.)

SOFA is about having a soft heart for animals and loving them more than the "average" person. Stories about that special kind of bond between humans and animals or interesting relationships among animals you know are welcome. If you have an interest in improving the lot of animals, you are welcome to post here. Basically, if you have an animal story that makes people smile and say "Awwwww....," or inspire better understanding of our animal friends, it is appropriate to post it here. Fun and laughter is also very welcome. So are questions.

The same applies to images posted to the SOFA pool. If it makes you feel like saying "Awwww..." it is probably appropriate for our pool. Fun and laughter is good here, too!! Blood and guts are not welcome here. Images of abused animals, animals fighting or eating each other are not welcome. Please be courteous to the other members of the group and do not flood the pool with a bunch of pictures at one time. Generally, no more than 3 images at a time is a good rule to go by. Let others post a few in between. The aim of this group is not to have the most animal photos, but to have photos that make everyone feel good.
