About SLW: Photo Remakes
I love aftermath shots. Dishes with just the remaining crumbs, sticky spoons with smears of jam, bowls with swipes of chocolate. For this months Still Life With challenge, I’ve chosen a photo from a recent blog post that I did. It wasn’t a photo I had planned, but after making a batch of huckleberry calamondin marmalade that was a gorgeous ruby color, I couldn’t resist taking a quick snap of the post-jamming pot:

For your remake, you can use the leftovers of your choice and adjust your colors accordingly. But the shot should still be top down, and use similar light to this shot.
It’s really helpful when you use the new diptych format when you post your results!
This challenge will run through the end of December.
More about the remakes:
What I'd love to see with each photo is some notation of how you thought about your remake. You don't have to try to make the photo look exactly the same (although you can if you want to). As they say on American Idol, feel free to "make it your own."
Think about lighting, styling and processing techniques. If you are replicating the original photo, explain how you thought about what was happening in the photo and how you reproduced it. If you made changes, explain what and why.
If you are posting photos, also do take the time to look at the photos of the other participants and give some constructive feedback.
Most of all, have fun!
