About The Slasher Shack
This is a commune for classic slasher film addicts, devotees, and connoisseurs to post various accoutrements from their beloved subgenre. Ideally, this group will grow into a tribute to these sleazy and cheesy films of yesteryear. If you love (or love to hate) bloody little gems like The Prowler, The Burning, and Sleepaway Camp, this is the place for you.
A few rules:
1. Please don't post anything later than Intruder. 1989 was the final nail in the coffin for the slasher genre as we once knew it. It was the year that slasher films lost all of their heart and feistiness, descending into nothing more than mechanized, gimmicky cash cows (I'm looking at you, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan). Occasionally, I'll accept a post-1989 submission, but only if it's something ultra-crazy like Hard to Die.
2. You are more than welcome to submit your own original artwork inspired by one (or even a few) of your favorite slasher films. But, please, no airbrushed guitars, Freddy vs. Jason comic strips, or tattoos. Sorry, fanboys—I love you, but this just ain't that kinda scene.
3. Giallo films count.
4. Splatter is welcome, too.
