About six_underground
six_underground is an experimental project undertaken by Jeff Phillips, which revolves around the concept of photography taken strictly with that of a cellular phone's camera.

Concept: In today's modern, and advanced world, we've been flooded with the millions of DSLR's that have in one form or another, breathed new life in to the world of photography. Sure, there's masses who still adore the more simple ways of film, which I totally support, but at the same time, because of these advancements, so many have failed to remember that art, in itself, is just that, ART, no matter what form of technology or means that it's produced. If you perceive it, if you dream it, and if you create it, then THAT is art in it's purest form.
So many people carry around cellular phones on a daily basis, yet how many people really consider the capabilities of the camera's that are equipped on them? Most of the time they are used just to capture something in particular, but rarely are they ever considered to be the "run to" device when you're looking for a photography camera. So, I devised six_underground with a premise that revolves around the concept of photography taken strictly with that of a cellular phone's camera.
I urge you to check it out, and view the premise with an open mind, so that perhaps the next time you're out and about during your daily activities, and you encounter something beautiful, that you won't stop and think to yourself "I wish I had my camera!" Yet instead, reach for your cellular phone, and remember that it's not about the high powered lenses and the large mega-pixels, but instead it's about THE ART, and capturing the moment, so that it will live on for eternity.
