About (Sir) James Gowans

Anything to do with (Sir - knighted 1886) James Gowans (1821 - 1890).

His most visible legacy is a range of houses in Edinburgh and West Lothian and also the Lochee Burns Club - Old Muirton Road, Dundee.

The later was just one of the railway projects he was involved with.
