About Sint-Annatunnel - Voetgangerstunnel - Pedestrian tunnel

Sint-Annatunnel of "voetgangerstunnel" is gebouwd samen met de Imalso autotunnel als de eerste vaste oeververbinding onder de Schelde in Antwerpen. Beide tunnels zijn aangelegd in de periode 1931-1933 en verbinden de linkeroever (Sint-Anneke in de volksmond) van de Schelde met het historische centrum van de stad. De tunnels zijn nog steeds in gebruik en de inrichting is grotendeels behouden gebleven; de houten roltrappen, de originele borden en de twee toegangsgebouwen.

Deze groep is bedoeld om foto's te verzamelen van de karakteristieke voetgangerstunnel.

The Sint-Anna tunnel was built underneath the river Scheldt in the period 1931-1933. It connects the old centre with the newer neighbourhoods at Linkeroever (the left bank of the river Scheldt) also known as "Sint Anneke", hence the name of the tunnel. The tunnel is still in use and pretty mucht preserved as it was, with the original wooden escalators, old-fashioned warning plates, two stylish entrance buildings etc..

This group is meant to gather all pictures from this characteristic tunnel.
