About The sinking of the 'Wellington'
This group is a Wellington (New Zealand) flickr group project to document the last days of the RNZN frigate 'Wellington' (formerly HMS 'Bacchante').
The 'Wellington' has been retired and will complete her final voyage when she arrives in Wellington on Friday 13th. May. She will then be berthed until November while she is stripped down and prepared for her new role.
In November she will be sunk just off the Wellington south coast to serve as a diving reef.
Wellington flickr members will document this process in this group. However all are welcome to post relevant photos. We will especially welcome photos from her past in the New Zealand and British navies.
