Tips On Achieving Slow Water Effects

-use a tripod whenever possible to improve the sharpness of your photographs and avoid camera shake.

-slow water photography is best undertaken in shade rather than bright sunlight, otherwise the water and surrounding rocks might appear over-exposed or too white.


-the slower the shutter speed, the dreamier or more blurred the water will look. A lower ISO will not only allow for longer shutter speeds, but will also reduce the levels of noise present.


-Natural Density filters reduce the amount of light into the lens and allow for longer shutter speeds, whilst Polarising filters reduce glare and reflections on the water. Both are very useful in capturing water at its finest.
